Extreme heat can reduce the protective qualities of differential fluid, leading to faster wear of differential gears and bearings. In limited-slip differentials, continuously high temperatures can break down friction modifiers and clutch packs, resulting in less efficiency and compromised traction control.

The PPE differential cover is cast from high-grade A356.0-T6 aluminum alloy and adds 0.8 quart of fluid capacity. This diff cover features half-inch external cooling fins for long-lasting heat management and performance. Built-in windage scrapers inside the cover help ensure consistent fluid circulation around the gears. These scrapers help reduce heat buildup and minimize parasitic loss, promoting more efficient power transfer by reducing excessive fluid churning. These scrapers, along with the vertical external fins, form a strong cross-bracing structure that increases load distribution and improves impact resistance. The fill and drain plugs feature a powerful, high-temperature-rated neodymium magnet that grabs ferrous particles out of the fluid for added protection. The fill plug is specifically positioned at the stock level.
