Description
Ensure all the fluid goes through the transmission cooler in your diesel with the ATS 3100052392 Thermal Bypass Valve Upgrade. From the factory, your truck has a transmission cooler bypass so that when cold, the fluid bypasses the transmission cooler for faster warm up. Which is a great idea in theory. In reality, the bypass valve has been proven to be problematic causing leaks, and in almost all cases, the valve sticks in the bypass position. When this happens, the fluid bypasses the cooler and it is essentially eliminated from the loop.
As many can guess, running your transmission without a transmission fluid cooler causes elevated temperatures which will severely damage your transmission. The ATS Thermal Bypass Valve Upgrade eliminates the factory bypass valve and ensures that 100% of the transmission cooler flow is forced through the transmission cooler. This not only ensures that you have proper flow, but it also helps reduce transmission temperature which also helps extend transmission service life. An ATS 68RFE Billet Aluminum Filter Coupler is included with this bypass valve to help with installation.
